😵😉 I pulled over a car full of grandmas for driving too slowly, but what I saw inside shocked me — I had to get them out immediately and follow the law.
One afternoon, I was on duty at the side of the highway, watching the cars and hoping to catch at least one violator. Suddenly, I see a car going only 22 miles per hour. I grab the radio, switch on the lights — something was definitely wrong.
I walk up and see five elderly ladies with wide-open eyes.
— Officer, — the driver says — I was driving exactly at the allowed speed.
— Ma’am, you were going 22 miles per hour, — I say seriously.
— Of course! — she beams. — The sign says “22”!
I could barely hold back my laughter: — Ma’am… that’s the route number.
Her cheeks turned red. I was about to leave when I noticed the others sitting frozen like statues.
— Are they… alright? — I ask quietly.
😵😲 She leaned toward me and said something that made me immediately order them out of the car and take them to the station.

— Officer, don’t worry, — she said calmly, as if talking about a cup of tea — they’ll be fine soon. You see… we’re just a little tired. Ten minutes ago we were driving on Route 180.
Then she gave me a mischievous wink. I nearly choked on air.
— Route one-eighty? — I asked, though I already knew I wouldn’t like the answer.
— Yes! And we smoked a little… for courage, — she nodded cheerfully. — Our friend is turning ninety today. She has always dreamed of “driving like a racer”. So we decided to make her dream come true. And what road is better for that than 180? We thought it was allowed!

I froze for a moment. Inside me, two sides were fighting: the one that wanted to laugh, and the one that had to file the official report.
Unfortunately, the second one won.
— Ma’am, — I sighed — it’s adorable, but rules are rules.
I had to ask all the ladies to step out and fill out the paperwork. They stood by the roadside, a little embarrassed but surprisingly delighted — as if it was part of their extreme birthday celebration.
And I thought: “At least they fulfilled their dream… even under police supervision.”
