Lunchtime was always the most stressful. Customers came in waves, order after order, phones ringing, constant movement — just another normal day at the restaurant. Anna had been working there for two years and knew every little detail: where the sugar bowl was, which table loved to complain, and who always left a good tip.
The owner liked to show up unexpectedly in the dining area, as if searching for something to criticize. That day, he was particularly irritable — constantly checking his watch, shifting chairs around, muttering under his breath.
Anna was carrying a tray of coffee to the table where the owner was sitting. The passage was narrow, and just as she was about to set the cup down, he suddenly turned around without looking. His elbow hit the tray, the glass tipped over, and the hot coffee spilled right onto his white shirt.
He cursed so loudly that even the musician in the corner stopped playing.
